We spent Christmas,2001
anchored in Scotland Bay, Trinidad.
We cut down some jungle foliage
for our Christmas tree this year.

Santa didn't disappoint us this year;
we got lots of nice gifts,
from each other
and from friends and neighbors.

It seems Santa left his reindeer at home.

Brave Captain Jack returns from
"Christmas tree" hunting.

Equipped with rubber knee boots to
fend off snake attacks, and a razor sharp
machete, Jack is ready for anything.

The day after Christmas, we stumbled upon an abandoned farm. The fruit was rotting on the ground where it had fallen, so we had to save it!

This picture shows only a fraction of what
we brought away with us.
We played Santa ourselves by bringing good cheer
and fresh produce to our neighbors
anchored in Scotland Bay.

Shortly after the holidays, we gave Naga a much needed haulout, needed to prepare for our
planned long voyages to places with few yachting facilities. It extended right through Carnival!

The Twelve Days Of Christmas

On the 12th day of Christmas my true love gave to me;
twelve sloppy painters
eleven lazy laborers
ten tons of sawdust
nine new cuts and scratches
eight gooey messes
seven spots of dryrot
six stiff paint brushes
five sanding disks
four cans of paint
three wet rags
two tubes of glue
and a haulout at Powerboats Marine

New and improved lyrics by Chrissi

Mohan and Dinish spray paint the topsides.

Chrissi adds the finishing touches.

It was hot and dirty in the boatyard and,
after 5 weeks of hard work,
the cleanup was a relief.

Kadisha and Chrissi, the dirty boatyard girls.

Naga's looking really sexy now
with her shiny bright topsides, newly painted decks,
and baby-butt-smooth bottom.

SPLASH!!!

... the HARDEST part!!

After the the paint, painters, carpenters,
the yard bill, the chandlery bill,
the machine shop and riggers, and gallons
of cold soft drinks, we get to the bottom line:
parting with money...

In the middle of all this was . . .

Trinidad Carnival 2002!
